Coase, Ronald (Harry)
(n. 29 dic. 1910, Willesden, Middlesex, Inglaterra).

Economista británico-estadounidense. Se doctoró en la London School of Economics. Fue docente en esa institución y también en la Universidad de Chicago. En su ensayo más conocido, El problema del costo social (1960), puso en tela de juicio la lógica clásica que consiste en prohibir comportamientos que dañan a otras personas. Argumentaba que los juristas debían concentrarse en la importancia de un mercado eficiente y en la negociación más que en los litigios. En 1991 recibió el Premio Nobel.
